Overview

This poly-cotton stretch twill fabric incorporates XLA® stretch fibre as an alternative material option for professional workwear development. Its cotton-rich blend and two-way stretch construction allow buyers to evaluate a different fibre combination alongside conventional spandex-based and T400 stretch workwear fabrics.

The technical specification provides mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, colour fastness and water vapour resistance results to support initial material assessment. WR treatment and reported high-visibility colour testing also make the fabric relevant to selected industrial and high-visibility workwear programs, subject to colourway-specific requirements, care-condition confirmation and finished-garment evaluation.

Performance & Standards

This XLA® stretch twill fabric has documented mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, colour fastness and water vapour resistance test results. The following data supports technical evaluation for professional workwear applications, subject to the specified testing conditions.

Key Test Results

Performance Area Test Standard Reported Result
Tensile Strength EN ISO 13934-1:2013 Warp: 1,400 N; Weft: 660 N
Tear Strength EN ISO 13937-2 Warp: 65 N; Weft: 31 N
Abrasion Resistance ISO 12947 >40,000 cycles
Dimensional Stability EN ISO 6330 Warp and weft: <±3%; 5 washes with tumble drying; 40/60°C referenced
High-Visibility Colour Coordinates & Luminance EN ISO 20471:2013/A1:2016 Conformity reported as new, after 25/50 washes and after xenon exposure
Colour Fastness to Laundering EN ISO 105-C06:2010 Grade 4 for polyester staining, cotton staining and colour change
Colour Fastness to Perspiration EN ISO 105-E04:2013 Grade 4 for polyester and cotton staining under acidic and alkaline conditions
Colour Fastness to Hot Pressing EN ISO 105-X11:1996 Grade 4–5 under dry, damp and wet conditions at 120°C
Colour Fastness to Dry Rubbing EN ISO 105-X12:2016 Grade 4 for cotton staining
Water Vapour Resistance EN ISO 11092 Ret <5 m²·Pa/W

Testing Notes

Results are based on the supplied technical specification dated 14 August 2023. The applicable 40/60°C washing conditions and the allocation of 25/50-wash high-visibility results require confirmation. Colour conformity must not be generalised to untested colourways or interpreted as finished-garment certification. No pilling or hydrostatic-head result is provided. OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is referenced in the specification, but supporting certificate details have not been verified. Actual performance may vary between articles.

Applications

This XLA® stretch twill fabric is a material option for professional workwear programs requiring a cotton-rich fabric with two-way stretch construction.

Potential Garment Applications

  • Industrial Workwear Trousers: A candidate for work trousers where stretch construction and documented mechanical performance are relevant to material selection.
  • Workwear Jackets and Uniform Sets: Suitable for evaluation in coordinated workwear programs requiring consistent fabric specifications across garment styles.
  • High-Visibility Workwear: May be considered for selected high-visibility trousers, jackets and workwear sets, subject to confirmation of the applicable colourway, washing conditions and finished-garment compliance requirements.

Material Selection Considerations

The XLA® fibre blend provides an alternative stretch-material specification for buyers comparing different workwear fabric constructions. Its suitability should be assessed against the intended garment design, working environment, care requirements and production conditions.

For high-visibility applications, the reported colour-performance results must be checked against the specific colourway and intended laundering requirements. Fabric-level test information does not establish compliance of the finished garment.

Buyers should confirm the applicable care instructions and any additional performance or certification requirements before final material approval.
