Overview
This polyester stretch softshell fabric combines a twill outer surface, PU membrane and dark grey polyester fleece backing in a laminated construction. Its visible anti-static grid provides a distinctive material feature for professional workwear applications where electrostatic performance is part of the fabric selection criteria.
Designed for workwear outerwear development, the fabric offers a combination of stretch construction, fleece-backed structure and tested physical performance. It may be considered for work jackets and related garments where material durability, comfort considerations and specified high-visibility colour options are relevant to the intended working environment.
Performance & Standards
This stretch softshell fabric has reported test results covering electrostatic performance, high-visibility colour properties, mechanical strength, abrasion resistance and moisture-related characteristics. Selected assessments include washing pretreatment, providing material-level evidence for professional workwear development.

Testing Notes
Results are taken from the JOY P&D technical specification issued on 14 March 2026. Referenced reports include SL52535371311001TX, SL32503353650401TX and SL52525343230401TX. Electrostatic and high-visibility colour assessments reference ISO 6330 / ISO 15797 pretreatment involving 25 or 50 washing cycles, as specified in the TDS.
The TDS lists EN ISO 811 water penetration tests but provides no corresponding hydrostatic-head values. No waterproof rating is therefore claimed. Reported results concern fabric testing and do not establish finished-garment certification or suitability for every workplace hazard.
Applications
Potential Applications
- Professional Workwear Jackets: Softshell jackets and workwear outer layers developed for industrial and professional environments where material durability, stretch construction and a fleece-backed structure are relevant to garment selection.
- Anti-Static Workwear Outerwear: Work jackets and related outerwear for applications requiring specified electrostatic performance, subject to the applicable workplace risk assessment and finished-garment requirements.
- High-Visibility Workwear: Softshell outerwear incorporating the tested high-visibility yellow, orange or red colour variants, subject to garment design, visibility requirements and colour-specific verification.
- Fleece-Backed Workwear Layers: Workwear outer layers where a laminated softshell construction with polyester fleece backing is preferred for the intended garment design and wearing conditions.
Material Selection Considerations
This fabric may be considered for professional workwear development where electrostatic performance, mechanical durability and a fleece-backed softshell construction are relevant. Material selection should account for the intended working environment, garment fit, seam construction, comfort requirements and laundering conditions.
Reported electrostatic results do not establish finished-garment compliance or suitability for every electrostatic hazard. High-visibility colour test results apply to the specified tested variants and do not independently establish conformity of a finished garment with EN ISO 20471.
Although the fabric incorporates a PU membrane, the available technical specification does not provide hydrostatic-head results. Waterproof performance should therefore be verified before selecting the material for applications requiring a defined level of rain protection. No flame-retardant or electric arc protection is claimed for this fabric.
